CAR CLUTCH

The title of ultra team Brendan Fowler and Ethan Swan (of Beyondersville, USA via LA and NY) ‘s first full length release together might say it all:  Bass Kills Children.  “Kills” like “rules” for cavernous warehouse children and all beings straight-up or metaphysical in nature.  Refreshingly dark, deep and sharp in the middle of a neon age; in the line of minimalist techno, here are the deep bass world champions.  Unfortunately, like their 7” companions, Sandcats, Car Clutch is an entity that only aligns when the stars are just right and the coasts join.

The first in our FRIENDSHIP / TRIP 7” series:  a split between deep bass world champions CAR CLUTCH (mem. BARR) and the elusive and beautifully dangerous SANDCATS (mem. CEX, MILEMARKER, LEXIE MOUNTAIN BOYS).

Tracks are: “BIKEWRIDER” (SC) and “RINGU, I’M ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT” (CC), and they are each such triumphs – at once foreboding and enlivening, boasting the most sonorous bass, enhanced times billions by Shawn Hatfield’s expert mastering.

FRIENDSHIP / TRIP is a special project for WILDFIRE WILDFIRE – curated with a few prescriptions for artists featured on each split to follow:  choose a full-flood photograph to be printed on heavy reverse board and one song to be pressed on the heaviest quality vinyl; we choose a pantone to print on the inside of the jacket and label, and emboss each band’s name on their respective side.

70 g vinyl, 350gsm reverse board, 500 copies pressed and delicate, by-hand embossing by Nick Gottlund of Gottlund Verlag. 

CAR CLUTCH has released a full-length album and has toured with Hawnay Troof and High Places.
